Sean Rose for Worcester City Councilor At-Large

​While serving as the District 1 City Councilor for three terms, Sean championed initiatives that not only improved his district, but also created lasting benefits for the entire city. From leading transformative projects to advocating for citywide policies, his work has enhanced the quality of life across Worcester.​

Secured more than $1 billion in private and public investments to the city, fueling growth and opportunity as Chair of the Economic Development subcommittee.

 

Obtained funding for enhanced infrastructure improvements, enhancing accessibility and safety on our city's streets and sidewalks.  

 

Championed the implementation of accessory dwelling units to address housing needs and support sustainable development.  

 

Introduced and implemented the city's first inclusionary zoning ordinance to increase affordable housing options for residents and promote equitable community growth.

 

Oversaw the creation of Indian Hill Park, providing a vital green space for recreation and community activities.  

 

Led the revitalization of Tacoma Street Playground, creating a welcoming space for families and children.  

 

Acquired significant funding for upgrades to Foley Stadium, improving facilities for local athletes and community events.

 

Successfully installed the Indian Lake alum dosing station to improve water quality and protect the environment.

 

Advocated for and implemented a specialized stretch code to advance energy efficiency and sustainability efforts.  

 

Established the Tree Commission to prioritize green initiatives and urban forestry.

Skillfully shepherded in partnership with Congressman McGovern, the Worcester Housing Authority, and community leaders, the Great Brook Valley Library expansion.

Assisted with the Greendale Revitalization Plan in partnership with Saint-Gobain and the Worcester Business Development Corporation (WBDC), to bring transformative investments and opportunities to the area.
